VisioMod Lineo — Horizontal Aluminium Fence

Horizontal aluminium slat fence engineered for residential boundaries, pool perimeters and hospitality terraces. Three slat widths (30/50/80 mm) calibrate the privacy-to-airflow balance — fine louvres that break wind turbulence, residential defaults, or near-solid planes for street boundaries. Concealed posts deliver an identical reading on both sides; no visible fasteners, no front-back distinction. Spans up to 2500 mm reduce post count on long runs. Heights 900–2000 mm, Qualicoat Class 2 powder coat in any RAL or three woodgrain laminates. A low-maintenance alternative to timber, mesh and WPC fencing — reviewed for inland and coastal wind exposure by project.

FEATURES

4 slat widths: 30 / 50 / 80 / 140 mm flat infill
Identical view on both sides — no visible fasteners
Open spacing or closed packing
Heights 900 / 1200 / 1500 / 1800 / 2000 mm
Any RAL + woodgrain laminate (Walnut, Oak, Anthracite Wood)

PROJECT BRIEF

How to brief VisioMod Lineo — Horizontal Aluminium Fence

VisioMod Lineo — Horizontal Aluminium Fence should be reviewed as part of a fence & gate systems project, not as an isolated catalogue item. Before quotation, connect the product choice to dimensions, fixing surface, exposure, finish, adjacent systems and the documentation route expected in the project country.

Confirm dimensions and fixing condition
Describe wind, privacy, acoustic or view requirement
State finish, accessory and gate or glass adjacency needs
PROJECT DECISION GUIDE

When VisioMod Lineo is the right aluminium fence.

Use Lineo when the project needs a modern horizontal aluminium boundary with controlled privacy, clean two-sided detailing and flexible slat density.

Suitable projects

Lineo is the main VisioMod route for villas, residential boundaries and driveway edges where the fence should read as part of the architecture.

  • Modern villa boundaries
  • Driveway and street-facing runs
  • Privacy fences with controlled airflow

Check before quote

The quote should define height, slat width, open or closed packing, post fixing, wind exposure and gate integration before production scope is fixed.

  • Slat width and privacy level
  • Post type and foundation method
  • Gate and lighting integration

Specifier handoff

Use Lineo as a system product, not only a panel: it connects to gates, glass, posts and lighting where the boundary has multiple functions.

  • Pair with Porta gates
  • Combine with Cristallo glass breaks
  • Review wind assumptions for long exposed runs
PROJECT PLANNING NOTES

Before VisioMod Lineo — Horizontal Aluminium Fence is treated as quote-ready.

Use this section as a practical pre-brief. It turns the common buyer questions around glass, railing, fence and moving-panel systems into a cleaner first request, without replacing project-specific engineering review.

Site and opening data

Share the exact opening or run length, height expectation, substrate, fixing side, slope, corner conditions and whether the product touches a terrace, balcony, facade, pool edge, gate or restaurant opening.

Performance intent

State the real priority: uninterrupted view, privacy, wind comfort, acoustic screening, corrosion resistance, compact stacking, full opening width, access control or night-time lighting.

Coordination route

Confirm the adjacent systems early. Glass railings may meet sliding glass, balcony railings may need privacy infill, fence runs may include gates, and glass walls may need threshold and drainage coordination.

PRODUCT ANSWERS

Practical answers about Lineo aluminium fences.

These answers help buyers compare Lineo as the main horizontal aluminium boundary route before adding gates, glass or lighting.

What is Lineo best used for?

Lineo is best used for modern villa boundaries, garden privacy, Sichtschutz searches and street-facing runs where a horizontal aluminium slat fence should look architectural on both sides.

Compare fence systems

When should Cristallo or Porta be added?

Add Cristallo where views and transparent windbreak sections matter. Add Porta when pedestrian or driveway access should match the same fence language.

Review gate program

What should be defined before quotation?

Define boundary length, height, slat spacing, privacy or Sichtschutz level, post fixing, wind exposure, gates, access control and whether lighting is part of the system.

NOISE-SENSITIVE BOUNDARY ROUTE

Use Lineo as the first acoustic fence shortlist.

Lineo is not sold as a guaranteed noise barrier by itself, but its continuous aluminium boundary route is a useful first shortlist for road-facing privacy fences where panel continuity, height and gaps must be checked before acoustic expectations are discussed.

Road-facing residential boundaries

Privacy runs where open gaps should be reduced

Engineering overview

VisioMod Lineo is a horizontal aluminium slat screen built around a 40 × 40 mm 6063-T5 frame and 20 mm hollow extruded slats — engineered as a non-load-bearing boundary system that delivers privacy, wind filtration and a continuous architectural line across spans of up to 2500 mm between posts. The three slat widths — 30, 50 and 80 mm — are not aesthetic variants but optical calibrations: the 30 mm profile reads as a fine louvre with a 1:1 gap-to-face ratio that retains airflow and breaks wind-driven turbulence; the 50 mm profile is the default for residential privacy at 1:0.5; the 80 mm profile gives a near-solid plane (1:0.2) for street boundaries and pool decks where visual closure is the priority. Across all three widths the slat depth stays at 20 mm, so the shadow line, frame reveal and post profile remain dimensionally coordinated regardless of slat selection. Structural design follows EN 1991-1-4 with the relevant National Annex applied to terrain categories II–IV inland and Category 0 coastal. The standard 1.0 kN/m² wind tier covers inland sites; the 1.4 kN/m² coastal tier upgrades posts from 60 × 60 mm to 80 × 80 mm and tightens span at 1800 / 2000 mm heights. Foundation is specified two ways: an M12 chemical or expansion anchor through a 150 × 150 × 8 mm base plate onto a frost-protected reinforced slab, or a 60 × 60 / 80 × 80 mm post concrete-set 500 mm (Zone 1) to 700 mm (Zones 3–4) below grade per local frost depth. Frame and slat extrusions are mechanically fastened — fence-class fabrication, with EN 1090-1 explicitly not invoked. The finish system is Qualicoat Class 2 powder coat in any RAL, providing 50 % gloss retention after 3-year Florida exposure, with Qualimarine pre-treatment (2 g/m² etching) specified within 5 km of saltwater. Three woodgrain laminates — Walnut, Oak and Anthracite Wood — are sublimation-fused with 10-year colour-fastness against UV.
Use cases

Where it fits

Detached residential villa

A suburban detached house on a 600–800 m² plot needs a 1500–1800 mm street and side-boundary screen that filters neighbour overlook without enclosing the garden visually. Wind exposure is Terrain Category III, frost depth 600–800 mm.

50 mm slats at 1:0.5 ratio give residential privacy while keeping airflow; 60 × 60 mm posts at 2500 mm spacing meet the 1.0 kN/m² inland tier; M12 anchors land cleanly on the frost-protected slab edge.

Coastal / seaside property

A second home within 2 km of the open coast faces salt-laden onshore winds, gusts above 110 km/h and chronic UV. Terrain Category 0 applies; the boundary doubles as wind shelter for a planted terrace.

Coastal tier upgrades to 80 × 80 mm posts and Qualimarine pre-treatment; 30 mm slats reduce wind face-load while breaking turbulence; A4 stainless fixings throughout.

Pool perimeter

A residential pool deck requires a 1500 mm screen that meets local pool-fencing visibility regulations, withstands chronic chlorine spray and reflective UV, and prevents pool-water dazzle from leaving the property.

80 mm slat (1:0.2 ratio) blocks reflected glare; Qualimarine treatment handles chlorinated humidity; 20 mm hollow slat sheds water with no horizontal ledge.

Hospitality boundary

A hotel garden or restaurant terrace needs a 1800–2000 mm boundary that delivers acoustic softening from adjacent traffic, controlled visual filtering between the dining area and the street, and a low-maintenance finish planned for long-term public use.

30 mm slats at 1:1 give acoustic diffusion without a sealed-wall feel; 2500 mm spans cut post count by 30–40 % vs typical 1800 mm modules; Qualicoat Class 2 holds gloss across the depreciation cycle.

Urban townhouse

A terraced townhouse with a 12–15 m street frontage needs a 1200–1500 mm front boundary that screens from pedestrian sightlines and integrates with a pedestrian gate. Footings are constrained by buried services; bolt-down anchorage onto an existing concrete sill is preferred.

M12 bolt-down on a 150 × 150 mm base plate avoids excavation; 50 mm slats in woodgrain Anthracite Wood warm a dark brick facade; 1.0 kN/m² inland tier sufficient at 1500 mm height.

vs alternatives

How it compares

Timber fence (larch / cedar slat)

Pros

  • +Natural material warmth
  • +Lower upfront material cost
  • +Biodegradable end-of-life

Cons

  • Annual oiling / staining required
  • Warps and cups within 5–7 years
  • Rot and insect attack at the post-ground interface
  • Silvering and uneven weathering
  • Fixings stain the timber face

Why VisioMod

Lineo delivers the same horizontal-slat aesthetic without the 5–7 year refurbishment cycle. The Walnut and Oak woodgrain laminates carry the warm reading of timber while removing the maintenance schedule, and the 6063-T5 frame does not warp, rot or check.

Welded steel mesh fence

Pros

  • +Very high strength-to-cost ratio
  • +Transparent — minimal visual mass
  • +Simple to install on uneven ground

Cons

  • Industrial register, reads as security fencing
  • No privacy or wind-shelter function
  • Galvanising weld-spots fail before the parent coating
  • Limited finish options beyond green / anthracite

Why VisioMod

Where the brief is residential or hospitality boundary rather than perimeter security, Lineo provides the privacy and wind-shelter function welded mesh cannot, with a finish quality (Qualicoat Class 2, full RAL) appropriate to architectural specification.

WPC composite fence (Bosco — within our own range)

Pros

  • +Warmer tactile reading than aluminium
  • +Wider profile faces possible
  • +Competitive material cost on long runs

Cons

  • Thermal expansion requires expansion gaps in the design grammar
  • Surface scratches expose pale core unless capped
  • Cannot match aluminium span-to-thickness ratios at 1.4 kN/m² coastal tier
  • Limited colour stability vs Qualicoat over 10+ year horizon

Why VisioMod

Bosco WPC is the right answer when tactile warmth and grain depth are the primary brief. Lineo is the right answer when span (2500 mm), wind tier (coastal 1.4 kN/m²) or finish longevity (Qualicoat Class 2 + Qualimarine) drive the specification.

Architectural integration

Reading on the facade

Lineo reads as a continuous architectural plane rather than a fence — a quality European boundary projects often use at the property edge. Against white through-coloured render or limestone facades, RAL 7016 anthracite grey at 1800 mm in the 50 mm slat profile produces the cleanest contemporary contrast; the same RAL on charred-timber or anthracite-clad volumes lets the fence dissolve into the building envelope. For warmer Mediterranean palettes — travertine, lime render, weathered brick — RAL 8019 (grey-brown) or RAL 7022 (umbra grey) sit more comfortably than pure black; RAL 9005 deep black is reserved for graphic, high-contrast statements against pale render. The 30 mm slat suits 900–1200 mm framing duties around terraces and pool decks where view is the priority; the 80 mm slat absorbs 2000 mm boundary heights without visual heaviness. Hidden posts are non-negotiable in this language — they preserve the reading of an unbroken plane. On the same property Lineo pairs naturally with Cristallo glass infill at terrace edges, Inciso laser-cut panels at the gate, and Bosco WPC where a warmer biophilic zone is needed.

Installation

Foundation & site notes

Two foundation strategies cover virtually every site condition. On existing reinforced slabs (≥150 mm C25/30), posts are mechanically fixed via M12 chemical or expansion anchors through a galvanised baseplate — fastest install, recommended only where slab depth and edge distances satisfy ETAG 001 pull-out values. For soft ground or new boundaries, posts are concrete-set in a 250 × 250 mm footing, 500 mm deep in DIN EN 1997 frost zones 1–2 (mild coastal), 700 mm in zones 3–4 (continental / alpine) to clear the local frost line; concrete C20/25, 75 mm cover to the post foot. Baseplates carry ±15 mm level adjustment on three axes. Slats are clipped from one end into the routed post channel and locked with concealed grub screws every fifth slat; cut ends seal with end caps. When paired with VisioMod Porta, allow a dedicated reinforced post (140 × 140 mm) on the hinge side.
